Summer 2004
Water
largely defines Wisconsin - Ojibwa
for "gathering of waters", home of 15,000 lakes
and bordered by two Great Lakes and the Mississippi River.
Clean Wisconsin hired Madison Environmental Group
to prepare outreach materials for their Great Lakes water
initiative to build support at the local level to protect,
conserve, restore and improve water conditions in the Great
Lakes region. We co-wrote, designed and published Wisconsin
Water – Our Way of Life. We also created a PowerPoint presentation
and summary document to use as a communication tool in meetings
with mayors and other municipal leaders across Wisconsin.
Clean Wisconsin received generous funding from the Beldon
Fund and Charles Stewart Mott Foundation for this work.

Action Guide
for Community Leaders
The guide is a
tool to help community leaders ensure a healthy future for
Wisconsin's water. It engages Wisconsin leaders and residents
around four key principles:
Protect water resources by preventing water
pollution.
Conserve water supply by using water efficiently.
Restore freshwater habitats and natural
waterways.
Improve water resources through stormwater
best management practices and green infrastructure.
