We chose ICI Lifemaster 2000 paint that’s virtually
VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) free.
We
bought and refinished old windows to use as transoms, ininterior
walls. Transoms bring natural light into inside rooms. We
salvaged and refinished as much wood trim as possible from
the demolition of the old office space.
We installed the 100% recycled soundboard and formaldehyde-free
insulation. We could move in immediately upon completion
as we witnessed no off-gassing odors from our material choices.
We
restored a skylight to bring daylight into the third floor,
reducing our demand for electric lighting, and improving
the aesthetic appeal of the third floor entry. The skylight,
however, will lose some heat in the Wisconsin winter. Choices!
