No
matter where you live and what type of work you do,
you can eliminate at least
one car trip per week.
Explore the links
below for solutions to your work and personal travel
needs.

Riding
a Metro Transit bus makes such great sense. By
taking the bus even some of the time, you will save
hundreds of dollars a year on gas, parking, and car
maintenance. You can use the time on the
bus to read, chat, balance your checkbook, or just
relax while you leave the driving to someone else.
|
For detailed route and schedule information,
visit www.mymetrobus.com.
Metro Transit's Park & Ride lots on the Southeast and
North sides of Madison allow you to park for free and complete
your commute on a Metro bus. All Metro buses are equipped
with bike racks, so you can combine biking and riding.
If you need help planning your trip, just supply the origin,
destination, and time of your trip, and Metro will e-mail
you a personalized trip itinerary. Plan
your trip here.
|
It’s
smart to share your ride, and your expenses. You
can cut your travel costs by 50% or more, and save
wear and tear on your vehicle, by carpooling or vanpooling.
You can set up informal carpools with your friends
and neighbors, or you can register for the City’s
free ride-matching service by calling 266-RIDE or
visiting the
city’s rideshare web site.
|
A vanpool is a group of 7-15 commuters who share the ride
and travel cost from work using a van supplied by the State
of Wisconsin. The State maintains the van, pays for gas,
handles scheduling, and finds parking. Learn
more about vanpooling.

Get
your exercise while you travel, and get around for
free. Try Madison's network
of bike routes and walkable neighborhoods and see
why Madison is ranked one of the nation's best cities
for cycling and walking. The City of Madison
Bike Map is available from the City of Madison Bicycle/Pedestrian
Coordinator at 266-6225, or download
it here. |

Free
